Ancient Time Statements of Pyrite
In his book "Natural History of Metals," Roman writer, naturalist, and philosopher Pliny the Elder (23–79 CE) mentioned a variety of stones that ignite sparks when struck on steel. All three stones were called "Pyrite," and the brass-colored one is most likely the precise stone designated as such today. #pyrite #jewelry
